Stardock Tiles: Manage Running Programs Using Windows 8 Metro Style Tiles in Desktop Sidebar


Now stardock has released a free public beta of its brand new product "Tiles" which shows all running programs as tiles in a customizable sidebar at Desktop. It helps you in managing the running programs quickly and easily by showing live tiles similar to Windows 8 Metro style tiles.

As you can see in above screenshot, Tiles is live in action in right-side of screen. You can scroll through the live tiles, swipe to switch between various pages, add, remove, rearrange program windows and shortcuts. You can also right-click on the shortcut to customize it:

You can also customize the appearance of sidebar and tiles using its configuration window which comes with metro UI similar to Windows 8 Metro Control Panel. You can change appearance, size, location, various options, etc using the configuration window.

After looking at the features and whole concept, Tiles looks a nice initiative from Stardock. It can be used inWindows XP, Vista and Windows 7. Both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows editions are supported.
